Fun Lesson Activity about The Vulture
This is a good activity to get kids involved with learning about vultures. First, give each child several sheets of construction paper and markers. Tell them to all draw and color pictures of animals, such as deer, rabbits, and foxes. Then, once all of the children finish making their animals, tell them to crumble them up. Explain that this represents a dead animal. Next, take all of the children to a large open room, and have them scatter their crumbled animals around the entire room. Then, tell them that they are all going to pretend to be vultures, and they need to fly around and find food to eat. Explain to them that vultures eat dead animals. After the game, let the kids count how many animals they ate. Then, ask them why they think vultures can eat dead and rotten animal meat without getting sick. Make sure to explain to them that vultures have very strong bodies and immune systems that help them eat all of the dead animals without getting sick.
