Fun Lesson Activity about The Swan
Objective: Reading the story of the ugly duckling as a class.
Materials: Hand out a piece of paper with the text from the ugly duckling story by Hanz Christian Anderson.
Instructions: Begin the class by asking the students if they have ever been made fun of by other students for how the look or something like that. Have a short discussion with the class and then suggest that many times, people who are considered ugly or not beautiful when they are young grow up and become some of the most beautiful people in the world. Read the story of the ugly duckling as a class and then have the students write a response on how they should treat other classmates in light of this story.
