Fun Lesson Activity about The Python
This is a great activity for kids to be creative while learning a little bit about pythons. First, give all of the children a long and skinny piece of paper. Tell them to color it first, and then, show them how to roll it up to look like a snake. Then, give them a piece of construction paper, and let them make a head for their python. After all of the children are done making their python, tell the children about the various environments that a python is found. For example, rainforests, savannas, and deserts are all places a python may be found. Ask them to pick and draw one of the environments for python on a sheet of paper. Once the children finish this, let them go around the room and observe the other pythons and the various environments that the other children drew. If time allows, share a few additional facts about pythons with the children. For example, “pythons are able to kill their prey by squeezing them until they suffocate.” Or “pythons swallow their prey whole.”
