Fun Lesson Activity about The Porcupine
This activity is a great way to get the kids to work together and learn about and teach others about porcupines. First, divide the children into three groups. Give each group a large sheet of paper and markers. Each group will work together to draw and color an environment where porcupines like to live. One group can be in charge of creating a desert, another a grassland, and the last group a forest. If they need help, show them pictures of what the environment looks like. Once each group is finished, give each group one large oval shaped piece of styrofoam. Also, give them thin, small sticks. Ask them to work together to put the sticks all around the styrofoam so that it resembles a porcupine. They can also be given googly eyes and construction paper to create the porcupine’s face. After each group has finished, ask them to share what kind of environment they created for their porcupine.
