Fun Lesson Activity about The Lion Head
To make a lion’s head, first, gather enough paper plates for each child to have his or her own. Then, give each child their own plate and markers. Ask them to draw and color a lion’s face on their paper plate. Once they finish, have them cut slits all around the outer rim of the paper plate to resemble the hair of a lion’s mane. Then, write several fun facts about lions on cards. Write one fact per card. For example, “lions can run very fast for short periods of time,” “a lion’s roar can be heard from five miles away,” or “lions are the second largest species of cats.” Then, give each child a fact card. One at a time, ask them to stand and show the other children the lion head they made. Also, have them share the fact that they were given with the rest of the children.
