Fun Lesson Activity about The King Cobra
This is a great activity to entertain kids with a fun craft while also teaching them a little bit about king cobras. First, cut out long strips of construction paper. They can be different sizes, but make sure that some of them are several feet long to represent how long some king cobras are. Make enough for each child. Next, give everyone a strip of paper and a sheet of construction paper. Show the kids how to fold their strip of paper accordion style. This will be the body of the snake. Then, ask them to draw and cut out a heart and a skinny rectangle from the construction paper. The rectangle will be the snake’s upper body/ head, and the heart will be a part of the snake’s head. Tell the children to draw the snake’s face on the top part of the rectangle. Next, have the children glue the heart to the back of the face on the rectangle so it looks as if the king cobra is flaring its hoods. The body/ head can then be glued onto the rest of the body of the snake. Once they are done, share a few facts about king cobras.
