Fun Lesson Activity about The Iguana
This activity will teach kids fun facts about iguanas. First, give all of the children a sheet of paper and markers. Show them a picture of what an iguana looks like, and ask them to draw their own iguana. While they do this, share a few basic facts about iguanas with them. For example, “iguanas are the largest species of lizards in America.” Also, tell them the different environments that lizards like to live in, such as deserts and rainforests. On a separate sheet of paper, tell them to draw an environment for their iguana. Once they finish, have them cut out their iguana. Then, tell them to cut off their iguana’s tail. Explain to the children how an iguana’s tail can come off, but it can grow back. Give them tape, and ask them to tape the tail back onto their iguana. Next, have them tape their iguana in the environment that they created. When everyone is done, let them walk around to see the other iguanas in their habitat.
