Fun Lesson Activity about The Crane
This activity is a great way to help the kids show their creative side while also learning a few fun facts about cranes. First, give each child a piece of white construction paper and a pencil. Then, step-by-step show all of the children how to draw a crane. Start with the body and then, the long neck, head, straight beak, and legs. Once they have all finished drawing their cranes, give them each a handful of white feathers, and let them glue them onto the body of their crane. After they finish this, ask them what they know about cranes. For example, ask them what they think cranes eat. Then, have them draw some food on their paper for their crane, such as fish, insects, seeds, and berries. Also, ask the children how they think cranes communicate with each other. Explain how they use sounds and body language just as humans do but that the sounds cranes use are different.
