Fun Lesson Activity about The Caribou
Caribou live in the Northern areas of North America, Europe, and Asia. They are the only deer where both males and females have antlers. They are also known for the large migrations that take place during the spring season. Caribou can walk up to 600 miles to areas where they can spend the summer feeding on grasslands. Migrating animals are also a fun way to teach students about mapping. First have the children draw a map that shows the route from the school back to their house. Then ask them to write step by step directions from school to their house. Encourage them to draw special landmarks on the map that help them remember their way home.
