Fun Lesson Activity about The Snowy Owl
Snowy owls are nocturnal creatures who prefer to hunt at night. Their great eyesight and hearing help them find prey. They can often be seen patiently waiting in trees until they are ready to swoop down and catch prey in their large talons. They are also known for their bright white feathers that help them blend in with the Artic snow. If students want to make their own snowy owl gather up white paper plates, white construction paper, and white feathers. Have students cut the white construction paper into two half circles for the wings. Then glue the two wings onto the paper plate. Next add feathers to the wings. For a finishing touch have students draw on eyes and a beak on their paper plate.
