Fun Lesson Activity about The Honey Badger
The honey badger is a fierce hunter that lives in Asia, Africa, and parts of India. They have a wide diet that includes beetles, scorpions, lizards, rodents, birds, and even snakes. Their strong sense of smell and large claws for digging help them catch their prey. As their name suggests these badgers also enjoy eating honey bee hives. Rather than going after the honey inside they eat the stiff structure of cells. Draw out 26 hexagonal shapes onto a piece of paper. These will represent the honey bee cells that honey badgers eat. Ask students to fill in each hexagon with a letter from the alphabet. Then ask students to cut out their honey cells and spell their own words by lining up the sides on the hexagons.
