Fun Lesson Activity about The Buffalo

Objective: The objective of this lesson is to teach students how important the buffalo was for Native Americans.

Materials: a piece of firewood, a fly swatter, a belt, a shirt, a bag, a pair of moccasins, a bucket, beef jerky, string, a cup

Instructions: Begin by showing the students a picture of a buffalo and tell the students that the buffalo was the most important animal for the life of the Native Americans that lived on the plains of the US. Then bring out all the objects and go through each one having each student tell the class what the object is. Tell the students that the Native Americans used different parts of the buffalo to make every object that you have at the front of the class. Put the students in groups and have them guess which parts of the buffalo were used to make each object. Then have a class discussion.
