Fun Lesson Activity about The Quokka
This game is a fun way for kids to learn about quokkas. First, on a large sheet of paper, draw a maze. Draw fun facts throughout the maze from start to finish. For example, at the beginning, write “It’s nighttime. Go out and find food.” Then draw leaves and grass nearby. Or another area could say, “No food around. Survive off of the fat stored in your tail.” Have the finish line be by tall grass and a source of water, such as a river or a lake. Once the maze is completed, make enough copies for each child to have his or her own. Then, give them a marker, and tell them to make their way through the maze. After all of the children have finished the maze, ask them to share one thing that they learned about quokkas. Challenge each child to say a different fact from all of the other children.
