Fun Lesson Activity about The Octopus
Objective: This is a fun Gym activity
Materials: a hula-hoop
Instructions: In gym class, tell the students that we are going to play a game called Octopus tag. Select 8 students to form the initial Octopus tentacles. Have each student put one hand on the hula-hoop, which is the octopus’ body. Explain to the students that an octopus uses it’s tentacles to grab and capture food. The objective of the game is for the octopus to capture food (or more students). The people who are the octopus need to work together to capture the other students that can run free. When a octopus tentacle captures a person, that person now needs to hold hands with that specific person on the tentacle. In this manner, the tentacles should grow in length until only one person is left. Declare the last student standing the winner and play again.
