Fun Lesson Activity about The Hornet
This activity is a fun and unique way for all of the kids to learn about hornets. First, gather enough plain white tshirts for each child to have his or her own. Then, give them either black and white paint or markers. Ask them to paint or color black and white stripes all over their tshirt. Once they all finish their hornet tshirts, have them put them on and pretend to be hornets, which are also known as predatory wasps. Share a few facts about hornets, and xplain how hornets live in forests and also in rural areas, such as near homes. Then, choose one child to be the queen bee, a few to be male bees, and the rest will be worker bees. Explain how hornets live in large groups that consist of these types of bees. Tell the children about the role of each hornet in the group.
