Fun Lesson Activity about The Fly
Objective: This is an art project using clay and paper to make 3d models of flies.
Materials: clay, paper, pipe cleaners.
Instructions: Put a picture of a fly on the board so that every student can see the form a fly. Then give each student a small piece of clay. Have the students take the clay and make 2 balls of equal size and one ball that is bigger than the other 2. The big ball will be the fly’s body and have them shape and mold it according to what the shape of the body is on the picture. Also have them do the same with the 2 smaller balls for the eyes and have them place the eyes on the body. Then take the paper and have the students get two wings out of the paper. This will then be placed into the clay of the fly’s body. Finally use the pipe cleaners to form the legs of the fly that can be put into the fly’s body. The students should have a good 3d model of fly that they can then show off to the class.
