Yaks live in herds of up to 100 yaks in the mountainous regions of Asia. They can live in cold climates with their long hair. Like many other members of the cow family they spend most of their time grazing and like other cows have more than one stomach. Yaks are also known for their large horns that can be used to break through snow. Help your students feel like a Yaks by creating a furry headband. All you need is glue, some construction paper, and yarn. Measure each students head and cut a strip of paper that will fit around their head. Then have students glue yarn pieces or various lengths all around the headband. When they wear them they will look like furry yaks.
