Fun Lesson Activity about The Trout
To make a trout, first, draw and cut out the outline of a fish. Also, draw and cut out fish scales from brown, green, blue, red, and white paper. Cut some fish scales out with aluminum paper to give them a shiny effect. Next, print out pictures of different types of trouts, such as rainbow and brook. Then, give each child a fish cut out, and supply them with the many pre-cut scales. Give each child a picture of a certain type of trout, and ask them to recreate it by gluing colored scales on their cut out. For example, if a child gets a rainbow trout, then they would use many different color scales. If a child got a brook trout, then they would glue red and yellow scales on the belly of their fish. After each child finishes, tape a large sheet of blue paper, which will symbolize water, on the wall and have them tape their trout to it. Then, let the children observe all the different kinds of trouts. Ask them how many different kinds they can find.
