Fun Lesson Activity about The Toad
This activity is a great way to get the kids involved with learning about toads. First, find something that has the texture of a toad’s dry, leathery, and wart covered skin. Pass it around the group of children, and let them feel it so they can feel what a toad’s skin is like. Share several facts about toads with the children. Have them demonstrate the facts when it is possible. For example, toads will either play dead or puff themselves up when they feel like they are in danger. Ask the kids to puff their own chest up like a toad was. Also, all of the children could be split into groups. Then, explain that when toads are in groups, the groups are called knots. Be sure to show pictures of what toads look like and also what they look like as babies when they are tadpoles. Then, give each child a piece of construction paper and markers, and let the children draw their own toad.
