Fun Lesson Activity about The Sunfish
This activity is a great way for all of the children to interact and work with one another to create a large picture and learn some fun facts about sunfish. First, lay out a large sheet of paper on the floor. Give all of the children a handful of markers. Draw a large outline of a sunfish, and then, ask all of the children to work together to color it in. Make sure you provide a picture of what a sunfish looks like so they know. Once all of the children have finished coloring the sunfish, tell them to each draw a jellyfish somewhere around the sunfish. Explain that jellyfish are the sunfish’s favorite food, but that it will also eat other food, such as small fish. Share some more fun facts about sunfish with the children as they finish coloring. For example, they are very big and can grow up to fourteen feet long and weigh up to five thousand pounds.
