Fun Lesson Activity about The Rainbow Fish

To make a rainbow fish, first, cut out a lot of small circles from different colored construction paper. Include all of the colors from the rainbow in addition to pink and white. These will be the fish’s scales. Then, give each child a piece of construction paper, and ask them to draw a large fish. Have them separate the fish’s head from its body with a thin, curved line. Next, let each child pick the scale colors that they want for their rainbow fish. Have them glue their scales onto the body of their fish. Then, tell them to draw a face and fins on their fish. Once the children are done putting scales on their fish, ask them to write whether their rainbow fish is a saltwater or freshwater fish. Have them write which one on the top of their paper. Then, hang a large blue sheet of construction paper on the wall to be water. Tape all of the children’s rainbow fish together on the paper to show that rainbow fish like to live together in groups called “schools.”
