Fun Lesson Activity about The Puma
The puma is one of the big cats of North America and goes by many different names including the mountain lion or cougar. Pumas are solitary animals that hunt alone. Play a game with students that will help reflect puma hunting habits. Hide 4-5 blocks around the world. First ask one student to find the blocks by themselves. Then ask 2-3 students to find the blocks. It is likely with more students the activity goes much faster, but each student only has 1 or 2 blocks. Now have students imagine if two or three pumas lived in the same area. It would be much more difficult for the puma to catch the prey they needed when so many of them were living so close together.
