Fun Lesson Activity about The Pheasant

To make a pheasant, first, gather enough paper plates for each child to have his or her own. Also, give the girls a handful of brown feathers and the boys a handful of colorful feathers, including green, red, brown, gold, white, and purple. Ask the children to glue their feathers on their paper plate, covering the entire thing. Then, give them construction paper, and ask them to draw and cut out a head, neck, legs, and feet for their pheasant. Give them a clear picture of pheasant so they know how to draw the parts. Once the pieces are cut out, tell them to glue the pieces to the paper plate, which is the body of the pheasant. When all of the children are done creating their pheasants, let them walk around the room and look at the other pheasants that were made. Tell the children how the activity shows that female pheasants and male pheasants look very different from one another.
