Fun Lesson Activity about The Mexican Eagle
This outdoor and indoor activity will have kids making a nest for their Mexican eagle. Take all of the children outside, and tell them to gather sticks, leaves, and other materials they can find to make a bird’s nest. Then, ask the children to either place their nest on the ground somewhere or in a tree, as a Mexican eagle would. Next, take the children inside, and give each child two pieces of white construction paper. On one sheet, tell them to color the Mexican flag, and give them a red and green marker to do so. On the other sheet, ask the children to draw and color their own Mexican eagle. Once each child is done with his or her Mexican eagle, teach them about the significance of each activity that they did. For example, the Mexican eagle is the native bird of Mexican, thus the Mexican flag. For the drawing of the Mexican eagle, tell the children that a Mexican eagle is also known as a Crested Caracara.
