Fun Lesson Activity about The Megalodon Shark

First, either draw and color shark teeth on pieces of cardboard or print out shark teeth and then, glue them to cardboard and cut them out. Each tooth should be various shapes and sizes that are distinctive of certain types of sharks. On the back of each tooth, write to what shark it belongs. For example, great white. There can be more than one of a certain type of shark. Then, make one giant shark tooth from the cardboard. This will be the megalodon shark’s tooth. Once you have various shark teeth cut out, find several large containers or a large area to put the teeth. Cover the teeth with something that the kids can dig through, such as marbles, coins, or rocks. Give each child a shovel and tell them to dig for shark teeth. Also, give them a bag to put the shark teeth that they collect in. Once the children finish digging, ask each child to share how many shark teeth they collected. Also, have them say what kind of shark the tooth belongs to. Let the child who found the megalodon shark tooth compare its size to all of the other shark teeth.
