Fun Lesson Activity about The Lobster
Objective: The objective of this lesson is to create lobster drawings for students to post in their homes or on their refrigerators.
Materials: Pieces of papers for the students.
Instructions: Show the students a picture of a lobster and explain that lobster is a delicacy food that is very commonly eaten in the state of Maine. Lobsters are caught in traps made from netting that are submerged in the ocean. The traps are then raised up from the bottom of the ocean with the lobsters inside. Two distinct things of a lobster are it’s two large pinching claws used for catching crayfish, and it’s eyes, which are mounted on long stalks so that the lobster has a good field of vision. Have the students draw the lobster in it’s natural habitat. Then have them explain in front of the class why they chose to draw the lobster as they did.
