Fun Lesson Activity about The Jay
To make a blue jay bird, first, give each child a piece of blue felt. Show them how to cut out the shapes for a blue jay, including the head, body, beak, and wings. Give them glue, and have them carefully glue on the wings, eyes, and beak of their blue jay bird. Then, give every child a sheet of construction paper and markers. Explain the environments that blue jay bird live in, and then, tell them to draw one on their sheet of paper. For example, blue jay birds are often found in the forests of North America. Once all of the children have finished their blue jay bird and the environment, let them, one at a time, show everyone. As an extra activity, give each child a black and white map of the world, and have them color in North America, which is where blue jay birds are from.
