Fun Lesson Activity about The Hippo
Objective: To practice the alphabet with really young students.
Materials: 26 pictures of hippos with a letter of the alphabet on each one.
Instructions: Pass out the pictures of the hippos to students and have them color the hippos whatever color they want. When the students are finished, have them work together to place the pictures of the hippos on the board in the correct order of the alphabet (A, B, C…). Then have the students sit down and as a class sing the alphabet song together. When that is finished, play a game where as you point to students they stand up and say the next letter in the alphabet (ex. You point to one student and they say “A”, you point to another student and they say “B”…).
