Fun Lesson Activity about The Hammerhead Shark
This fun game is a great way to get kids involved with learning about hammerhead sharks. First, draw, color, and cut out large pieces of a hammerhead shark separately. This includes the body, the hammer shaped head, the gills, the fins, the tail, and the sharp teeth. Pass out each piece of the hammerhead shark to the children. Give one piece per child. If there are children without a piece, the activity can be done again. One at a time, beginning with the hammerhead shark’s body, have each child hang their piece in the right place. As the children place their piece on the shark, tell them to say any fact about the piece. For example, if a child hangs up the body of the hammerhead shark, he or she could say how long hammerhead sharks can grow. Or if a child tapes on the hammer shaped head, he or she could say that the hammerhead shark uses it to find prey, such as stingrays. If the activity is done again, challenge the children to say different facts from before.
