Fun Lesson Activity about The Florida Panther
This activity is a fun and interactive way for kids to learn about the Florida panther. First, on several cards, write on a name of a predator of a Florida panther. Write a different one on each card. For example, alligators and humans are predators of a Florida panther. Next, make cards that have an animal that is a prey of a Florida panther on it. Again, write only one prey per card, and write different ones. For example, deer, raccoons, rabbits, and armadillos are all prey of a Florida panther. Next, write environments that a Florida panther may live in on cards. Swamps and forests are examples. Write other facts on cards, such as other names for a Florida panther. Then, give each child one card of each fact. Ask the children questions about Florida panthers that they can answer using their cards. For example, “What other names are a Florida panther known by?” A child may hold up their card that says, “puma.” Ask each child to share what their card says. As an extra activity, give each child a black and white map of the United States, and ask them to color in the state of Florida.
