Fun Lesson Activity about The Cobra
Objective: Illustrate to students how fast a cobra is.
Materials: a stopwatch, a fake mouse, a video of a cobra catching some prey (youtube)
Instructions: Begin the class by asking what is the fast snake in the world. After discussion tell them that the Cobra is the fast snake in the world. Show them the video of a cobra catching it’s pretty and tell them that a snake can move at 8 ft per second. Place the fake mouse at a distance of four feet from the students and time them grabbing the mouse. After the whole class does the exercise and you have recorded their times, tell them that the cobra can do it in 0.5 seconds.
