Fun Lesson Activity about The Buck Deer
Before you begin the craft, explain to the children that a buck deer is a male deer. Then, give each child a brown and tan sheet of construction paper. Ask the children to trace both of their hands on the tan sheet of construction paper. Next, ask them to trace one of their feet on the brown sheet of construction paper. Then, have them cut their hand prints and foot print out. The foot print will be the buck deer’s long head. Give each child a pair of eyes and a black cotton ball, which will be the nose, to glue onto the deer’s face. The hand prints are the buck deer’s antlers. Tell the children to glue these onto their deer’s head. Once they have finished putting together their craft, test their knowledge with a few simple and fun questions about buck deer. For example, “What do buck deer eat?” Or, “What do buck deer use their antlers for?”
