Fun Lesson Activity about The Bobcat
This game is a fun way for kids to be active while learning about bobcats. Before the game begins, teach the child a few basic facts about bobcats. For example, bobcats live in a wide variety of habitats, such as forests, deserts, and mountains, across many states. Or bobcats look like house pet cats, but are not the same size as a pet cat. Make sure predators and prey of bobcats are explained as well. Then, write “bobcat” on several cards, names of prey on other cards, such as rabbits or birds, and names of predators some cards. Pass out one card to each child. Then, take the children to a large area and have them act out their part. If they are the bobcat’s prey, they should try to avoid the bobcats. If a bobcat sees prey, he or she should sneak up and pounce on them as a bobcat would. Predators should seek out bobcats, and if a bobcat sees a predator, he or she should run or hide.
