Fun Lesson Activity about The Angler Fish

This activity will teach kids how to draw their own angler fish. First, give each child a sheet of white construction paper and a pencil. Then, step-by-step, show the children how to draw an angler fish. Start with the body, head, and teeth, then the tail and fins, and finally, the spine and light that hangs over their head. Then, let the children color their angler fish. While they are coloring, make a representation of the ocean depths. Take a large sheet of paper. Color the top third a light blue, which will represent the shallow waters, the middle third a medium blue, and the bottom third a dark blue, which will represent the dark, deep ocean waters. Tape this to the wall. Next, when the children are done coloring, ask them to tape their angler fish to the paper in the area of the ocean where angler fish live.
